The S285 hybrid turbocharger upgrade for the Mk2 Puma and MK8 Fiesta ST is a direct-bolt-on replacement for the factory turbocharger. It features a number of performance-enhancing upgrades, including:
 
  • A larger billet compressor wheel with extended tip technology.
  • A larger high-flowing turbine wheel
  • Significant modifications to the compressor housing, including advanced machining for ‘anti-surge ports’, CNC re-profiling to match the upgraded compressor wheel, and a bell-mouth intake tract
  • CNC re-profiling of the turbine housing for the larger turbine wheel
  • An all-new bearing and shaft system, designed specifically for this application
  • Increased journal and stub shaft diameters for greater durability
  • A TT-designed journal bearing
  • A TT-designed 360° thrust bearing assembly
  • Modification of the bearing housing for the TT turbine and a new heat shield design
  • A TT-designed seal plate, machined from billet
  • Modification of the compressor clamp disc to match the TT seal plate
  • A TT-designed upgraded heat shield and clamp arrangement to suit the turbine wheel upgrade
  • Balancing of the core assembly to high speed on a Turbo Technics VSR® balancing machine
 
As a result of these upgrades, the S285 hybrid turbocharger delivers the following performance gains:
 
  • Up to 80 Bhp and 80 Lb-ft of torque over the factory turbocharger
  • Increased power output of up to 290 Bhp at the engine
  • Improved throttle response
  • Enhanced performance
  • Reduced turbo lag
  • Increased longevity
 
Purchasing Options
 
There are three ways to purchase this turbocharger:
 
  • Refurbished Unit Exchange Basis (send turbo after)
 
You will pay the same price as the outright purchase, but we will refund you £450+vat surcharge when you return your old standard turbocharger.
 
  • Refurbished Unit Exchange Basis (send turbo before)
 
You will have to return your old standard turbocharger to us before we send your exchanged hybrid out. You can return your old turbocharger within 30 days of placing your order.
 
  • Brand New Unit Outright Purchase
 
You can purchase a brand new turbocharger outright. This option is the most expensive but saves on having to return your old unit to us.
 
Turbo Technics Quality: Renowned for engineering excellence and reliability. Restores your ST to its intended power and responsiveness.
 
Exchange Basis: This turbocharger is supplied on an exchange basis. Your original turbo core is required.
 
Warranty: The Turbo Technics S285 Turbo is a Hybrid Unit and unfortunately supplied without warranty. Rest assured that these units are built by one of the best so chances of problems are slim but due to the nature of the hybrid turbo charger pushing for increased power turbo technics decide to not provide a warranty on their hybrid units.
 
As good working practice when replacing a turbocharger it is essential that you replace the turbo oil feed and oil drain pipes and also carry out an oil and filter change. Please select from the drop down menus to add a turbo fitting kit to your order.
The turbo fitting kit includes the following:
  • Turbo Oil Feed Pipe
  • Turbo Oil Drain Pipe
  • Cylinder Head to Turbo Studs
  • Cylinder Head to Turbo Nuts
  • Cylinder Head To Turbo Gasket
  • Coolant Pipe O-Rings
 
Repaired Turbochargers
Warranty is not provided from Turbo Technics on Hybrid Turbochargers. No further warranty is given by OC Motorsport. Failures due to circumstances or conditions outside our control cannot be accepted under the Turbo Technics Warranty. 
Warranty does not cover the cost of labour or materials involved in removing or re-fitting the turbocharger or any other costs associated with the loss of use of the vehicle while the warranty claim is proceeding. Turbo technics warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the turbocharger at its discretion. No warranty is given in respect of any consequential losses.
 
It is imperative that the turbocharger is fitted in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations and Turbo Technics' fitting instructions. Failure to adhere to these may result in a rejected warranty claim. Particular attention should be paid to the turbochargers oil supply and ensuring that a high degree of cleanliness is maintained while installing the turbo charger.
Warranty will not be accepted if the turbocharger boost setting is outside the figures recommended by the original vehicle manufacturer or Turbo Technics. The boost setting must always be checked after fitment to comply with this warranty.

If we have mistakenly supplied incorrect parts, we will first attempt to provide you with the correct parts. If the correct products are unavailable, we will reimburse you the full purchase price within 14 days. However, please note that OC Motorsport is not responsible for any labour charges incurred during the fitment or removal of suspected incorrectly ordered or supplied parts. Warranties: Generally, warranties are provided by the product manufacturer and not by OC Motorsport. Therefore, we recommend reaching out to the product manufacturer as the primary point of contact.
