Service Description: Ford 1.0L EcoBoost Engine Wet Belt Replacement Package

 

The Ford 1.0L EcoBoost engine is susceptible to a known mechanical failure mode involving the degradation of the internal "wet" timing and oil pump drive belts. Operating within the engine oil, these belts are prone to surface delimitation over time due to heat cycles and oil contamination.

 

If left unaddressed, belt degradation can lead to critical engine damage. Debris from the belt coating can obstruct the oil pump pick-up strainer, resulting in oil starvation. The earliest indicator of this issue is often the illumination of the low oil pressure warning light.

 

To mitigate this risk and restore engine integrity, we offer a comprehensive replacement package utilising Genuine Ford Parts and Lubricants:

 

Scope of Work:

 

  • Timing Drive Components:

    • Replacement of Timing Belt (wet belt)

    • Replacement of Timing Belt Tensioner

    • Replacement of Timing Belt Tensioner Including New Idler Pulley

  • Oil Pump Drive:

    • Replacement of Oil Pump Drive Belt (wet belt)

  • Cooling System:

    • Replacement of Water Pump

    • Replacement of Water Pump Elbow and Seal

  • Lubrication System:

    • Removal of Sump Pan

    • Full Clean Up of Sump Pan 

    • Full Clean of Oil Pick-Up Pipe / Strainer

    • Full Engine Oil and Filter Change (Genuine Ford specification)

    • Removal, cleaning, and refit of Oil Control Solenoids (Variable Valve Timing / VCT units)

    • Removal, cleaning, and refit of Engine Vacuum Pump and Pump Gauze Filter

    • Removal Of Turbo Oil Feed Strainer Gauze Filter and Thoroughly Cleaned

  • Sealing & Hardware:

    • Replacement of Crankshaft Front Oil Seal

    • Replacement of Crankshaft Pulley Bolt (single-use, torque-to-yield) using a Torque Multiplier

  • Fluids:

    • Complete cooling system drain, flush and refill with New Coolant

    • New Millers 5W20 Engine Oil and Genuine Ford Oil Filter

 

Important Operational Note:
Due to the extensive labour involved in accessing the wet belt system (including engine support and front-end disassembly), the vehicle may be required to remain on-site overnight to ensure the work is completed to the highest standard.

 

OC Motorsport cannot stress the importance of keeping up with your annual maintenance, we highly recommend the oil and filter are replaced ever 5 - 6,000 miles and at least once per year if you do not cover the mileage. If this level of servicing is maintained and not skipped or compromised we have known multiple cases of the wet belt easily surpassing 100,000 miles without failure.

If we have mistakenly supplied incorrect parts, we will first attempt to provide you with the correct parts. If the correct products are unavailable, we will reimburse you the full purchase price within 14 days. However, please note that OC Motorsport is not responsible for any labour charges incurred during the fitment or removal of suspected incorrectly ordered or supplied parts. Warranties: Generally, warranties are provided by the product manufacturer and not by OC Motorsport. Therefore, we recommend reaching out to the product manufacturer as the primary point of contact.
